shark week shenanigans

The boys look forward to shark week every year.❤ It's been a fun summer tradition we've enjoyed celebrating since they were toddlers and I always love coming up with new ideas to mix it up each year. I love having friends text and send me cute ideas.. this year a friend gave me the heads up about the cutest shirts from gap and told us about Build a Bear celebrating it..which naturally we couldn't  resist the fun shark week theme they had going on and made that one of our stops. I didn't go to crazy with a set up this year and just ordered a few shark tees to wear throughout the week at Children's Place (even found a cute one for myself at target๐Ÿ˜‰) and some pjs (which we totally forgot in the laundry room all week๐Ÿ™ˆ) and then the usual - a few books to read at night before bed. I did find a cute shark lego set on amazon for Ayden which he immediately put together Monday morning. Our favorite was the little crab that came with it. ๐Ÿฆ€

Below is the randomness and little details that I love so much and that made me smile this week. A favorite podcast, finding the boys wrote that they loved me in the shower one night, waking up to aaron had drawn fun pictures for the boys in their shower the next day, the new Anthro catalogue, etc. Music that we couldn't stop listening to (Dylan was obsessed with "Old Town Road" this week while Ayden and I couldn't stop listening to Jonas Brothers "Only Human") ..I know, Jonas brothers.๐Ÿ˜† Oh and the sweetest person in front of us in the Starbucks line payed our hefty tab one morning. I love being a part of the kindness train! It's such a treat and always fun to return the favor and jet off afterwards haha. Hot tamales were the guilty pleasure of the week. I never eat candy but when I told Aaron I had been craving them he brought home an enormous bag.. the challenge was accepted.๐Ÿ˜‚

Back to school in less than a month now. It's crazy how fast this Summer has flown by. All the uniforms have been ordered, shoes and backpacks picked out.. the last order of business was tackling the school supply lists. Each year I print out a couple copies and circle their grade, take them to target and let them loose. It's always chaos haha and I loved looking down at my watch after finishing and see it asking me if I was working out.๐Ÿ˜† A trip to the park afterwards was needed haha. And the car wash is the one place they can get away with eating chips at 8am. I would just like to note that this was the one occasion I actually did not encourage them to match haha. Ayden did it all on his own..finding exactly the outfit Dylan was wearing this morning to sport for the day. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The weekend before we made a trip down to san diego during comic con. Aaron always loves going down to be a part of the energy and see all the fun stuff they have. We ended up running into this huge shark week event that where they had an enormous shark destroying random items like surfboards and bikes. Needless to say it was right up the boys alley haha.

A trip to the mall  to meet Aaron for lunch one day. We had thee best Mediterrean food, like our new favorite. My friend had been telling me to go since we had gone to the one in Newport together years ago so we finally did, so good. We got our favorite coffee drinks at Nordstrom while we followed the boys around the mall witnessing them almost run down a handful of people while riding their motorcycle cars. ๐Ÿ˜†

Lunch and pool date with our grammy and so thankful my mom gave me the heads up on this bounce house in Norco. The worlds largest bounce house. So much fun. Kind of a kids heaven and a parents nightmare haha My back hurt so bad the next day.๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously it was really fun and the slides were pretty epic. They had a dj inside the biggest house with bubbles and all sorts of slides and contraptions for them to climb on and bounce up on. Afterwards we got to see my sister Kimby's new place (yay she is back in Corona๐ŸŽ‰) and help a bit before heading to dinner with our Grammy at Toms Farm.

The best Italian ice. ๐Ÿ‘†Then there was the boys trip to Build a Bear- they even had the cutest shark week outfits for the sharks to wear haha.

Lastly was our trip to #Ramscamp today. Dylan is currently obsessed with football and his favorite team is the Rams. I found out they had their camp really close by at UCI campus so we got tickets and went. Such a fun experience for him. Omg his little face lighting up as he got signatures on his football he brought from home was priceless.๐Ÿ˜ Meanwhile Ayden said it was the worst game he has ever been to.๐Ÿ˜‚
