dr suess day fun.

who doesn't love dr suess? hooray for an entire day to celebrate him! the boys knew all about dr suess from our cruise in january so it made it even more fun. I had originally bought dr suess shirts for the boys at target for the cruise but dylan wanted to "be" the cat in the hat and so when I found this shirt at party city when grabbing the hats, he was thrilled. ayden on the other hand was seriously bummed they didn't have it in his size but preschool doesn't actually celebrate this day so I reminded him that when he is in kinder he will be able to wear it then. little brother woes.😜 they looked so dang cute and were so excited for the day!

the class had a green eggs and ham breakfast - made by the moms. themed plates and napkins on all the tables, pictures they had colored all over the walls and naturally a class picture together was needed. the kids even cracked their own eggs, which we then colored green.
obviously it wasn't all rainbows. many parents forgot to send their kiddos with stuff they signed up for so it was a lot of figuring out how to make green eggs and ham- without the ham and where can we find table cloths right this second and why is this girl in an astronaut outfit for dr suess day?πŸ˜‚ it's the behind the scenes stuff that makes it interesting anyways.πŸ˜‰ the point was the kids had a blast... and ate a ton the morning. 😳 I took ayden late to his class so that he could join in the fun too. he sat next to dylan in his own little spot but wasn't touching the green eggs haha.

dylan needed some new cleats (that actually fit) so I picked some up later that morning alone with a yankees hat (go yankees!) for his opening day and surprised him at pick up with them. for ayden he didn't really need anything but I grabbed a some bubbles and robot stickers just as a little something for after school too that day. random surprises every once in a while are fun after a long day in my opinion.πŸ˜‰

ok so dylan really wanted to be the cat in the hat that day but costumes were not allowed unfortunately at school, but they are at miguels.πŸ˜† we usually do dinner once a week with my parents. we used to do it when the kids were little and decided to start it back up because with everyones busy schedules its hard to make time to see each other as much. its a good to reconnect and see what everyones been up to and bonus is having a night off cooking dinner duties.
anyways dylan wanted whiskers and a nose and ayden did... until he got them put on his face haha. I had bought them some goodies to keep the celebration going at home that day and we didn't want them to go to waste so we just bought them all to dinner with us and we celebrated there. the waiters all thought we were crazy I'm sure, but we've never let that us stop us.πŸ˜‰
