things that made us smile this week.

just some of the random moments of our week, or more accurately, the past two weeks. the moments that made us smile or laugh and also the moments that I felt defeated or wanted to rip out my hair. either way I know I will look back on them all fondly and miss them each one.

a new addition to the homework station and my attempt to make it more alluring/ fun for the boys. I even included tissues for all the tears shed while dylan does his haha. 

dylan got up extra early and ran downstairs to set up a surprise for ayden and I because we were the two people still sleeping haha. I thought it was so cute that he wanted to surprise us. he set up the dining room table with valentines napkins and wine glasses on cake platters. he even put out a letter that I had left for them the day before.;)

lunch one day. alaina always hooks me up with the cutest holiday picks and rings to use. these were the first valentines ones I used this month. 

my current read. this author is one of the founders of the honest company. I am currently obsessed with all honest products and especially the honest beauty line.  

alaina surprised me with this sweet early valentines gift filled with all sorts of goodies for me and the boys.  

last monday definitely felt like a monday. hence ayden in elf pjs at 2 pm in february haha ice cream after we picked up dylan sounded like a good idea. 

me totally stress that he hasn't finished his research report (because homework is definitely a struggle right now) trying to dictate what to draw in his next picture to complete his research report on the way to school. 

my friend had her first day at her new job. I wanted to bring her a little something special for lunch at in and out so I got her hubby to tell me her favorites. I was going to include balloons but thought she might kill me;) 

since we were making a trip to the school we thought it would be fun to surprise dylan and his teachers with burgers as well. besides it was friday and thats always a cause for celebration at school;) 

totally loved his surprise. he begs for shakes on the daily so it was definitely a treat. at pick up the first thing he said was "thank you mom so much for my shake" 

dylan was so proud of the "donuts for dad" invitation he made at school for aaron. he wanted to surprise aaron with it on his desk for when he got home that day so he made sure it was placed in the perfect spot.

I snapped this picture because the only pictures I had recently posted on social media was pictures of our vacations and parties. obviously that is not our everyday life, this is haha.  

after so many days of rain I remember being so glad to be able to open the windows and see a bit of sunshine.  

the boys snack obsession lately. we go through fruit so fast in this house. traders has the best cuties right now, we went through an entire bag in one day. they have the stems still attached and are so sweet. we all can't get enough. 

I needed to get dishes done and was throwing away this herb plant so
I gave it to the boys to "plant" somewhere  in the backyard. They were so proud of their gardening skills.;)  

dressed himself complete with accessories to go play baseball at the park with the family. 

last weekend was so pretty so we decided to take a little picnic to our park and play some ball.  ayden ended up falling asleep on the way so we ended up eating in the car to let him nap a bit. 

being gone so much this past month has left us with quite a bit of makeup work. this is usually the homework scene. 

the boys decided they wanted to put on a show for aaron and I one night. this was my invite. 

the show was set up with wallets and batteries? oh and dylan playing the guitar haha  

naturally we all decided to take turns showing off our talents when he was finished.

alaina always snaps me pictures of the boys when she is at the school. she also keeps me in the loop with all the school information and checks to see if dylans socks are wet after aaron drops him off at school and then remembers he might have left him all wet haha. I seriously do not know what I would do without her.  

dylan had his first baseball practice of the season last week. we went with a new league and are loving the organization and coaches already. we really think it is going to be a good season with a lot of opportunity for growth. ayden rolled down the hills and took everything out of my wallet after watching dylan play. next season ayden will finally be old enough to play with the league.

volunteer days at the school. we've been gone and ayden was sick off and on so I haven't been at the school as much this past month so it was nice to get back to the classroom and be involved again this week. 

ayden loves to pretend he has homework too. lately I've just been making a photocopies of dylans work so ayden can really feel like he has work to be done. he loves it and usually finishes before dylan;) 

I hardly ever make the trek to the mall but did last week. although it was a short trip, it was nice to just walk around, sipping my favorite drink with ayden. definitely reminded me of when they were younger. I want to enjoy these moments more often while ayden is still willing to sit in the stroller. 

my favorite drink is the sparkling pom lemonade. 

I found this old cd that we got when dylan was a baby. all the songs are personalized with his name in it and while dylan found it absolutely embarrassing ayden loves it. he asks me to play it everyday and usually just one song over and over so i ordered one with his name to surprise him with;)  

the boys did not want to leave the park one day and fits were starting to be thrown so our hassle free ticket home was saying that for dinner they were having green pancakes... with extra flax and chia seeds that they have no idea I add;) 

the boys had come home from the park and started watching football. they love watching espn lately. I decided to add these little football picks I found in the kitchen from last year super bowl to their dinner which they got a kick out of.
