story time and library love.

I miss the days when the boys and I would go to the bookstore, grab a jamba or hot chocolate and a new book to read that night before bed. We've had a busy couple of weeks but I was determined to make it happen this week. Today it was pouring rain, it even started hailing right before we left. Normally I think this would have detoured me but today we made it a mini adventure. We grabbed our rainboots, umbrellas and had a fun little outing that I enjoyed even more than I thought I would. I actually grabbed Dylan's rainboots by mistake so Ayden ended up wearing his size 10 shoes the entire trip haha. I think ayden, being the youngest one in the family, gets talked over and as a result ends up doing his own thing quietly so often that it is always nice to just have one on one time with him. I enjoy listening to everything he has to say (which is a lot when he his alone haha) and not be rushed while doing so. He found a really cute Donatello ninja turtle bear, the last one for himself and immediately reminded me that we couldn't leave without one for Dylan. He found Dylan his favorite Mikey ninja turtle and insisted that we got it as well. He sat with both of them in his lap for the entire session. He was so excited to show Dylan what he had picked out for him. We decided to put the turtle and a book series I found to help Dylan with his reading, in his car seat to surprise him at pick up. I loved his excitement to surprise him and the fact that he always thinks of his brother. I loved this morning and hope to make it as often as possible.
